About This Site This site uses a new approach that we call a Map Oriented Visitor Guide that is particularly suited for small towns and rural destination tourist areas. In these areas visitors particularly want to know, "What's there?" when they see a town on a map. When they plan a trip they want to know what's around--if they book lodging in a particular area, are their restaurants that they'd like nearby? Is the lodging they are thinking about close to the attractions they'd like to visit? This site for the Yosemite region is the first such site, but we are working on expanding our coverage to other areas in California. FOR BUSINESS OWNERS IN THE YOSEMITE REGION At present we are not accepting advertising. We need to build up the level of traffic on the site first. We are running a few ads on an experimental basis to test out our ad software as we develop it. FOR SMALL TOWN VISITOR BUREAUS AND CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE If you like the Map Oriented Visitor Guide approach, you will soon be able to easily add these kinds of maps to your web site. We will offer a service (known as "Bubble Maps") in which we will create the maps and host the necessary software on our servers. You need only (1) Provide sketches of maps that include the businesses and attractions you would like on the maps; (2) Provide photos for all businesses/attractions; and (3) Add some HTML code to your web site that we will provide that will integrate the maps into your site.
